STEPN is a Web3 lifestyle app with inbuilt Game-Fi and Social-Fi elements. It is built around "moving around" which is an essential daily activity for most people.
Users equip themselves with NFTs in the form of Sneakers. By walking, jogging, or running outdoors, users will earn game currency, which can either be used in-game, or cashed out for profit. The amount of earning also depends on the attributes, type and level of sneakers NFT.
There are two tokens in STEPN. GST (Green Satoshi Token) is the game token and GMT (Green Metaverse Token) is the governance token.
With Game-Fi, STEPN aims to nudge millions toward a healthier lifestyle, combat climate change and connect the public to Web 3.0, all while simultaneously hinging on it’s Social-Fi aspect to build a long-lasting platform fostering user generated Web 3.0 content.
GMT is the native token of the Find Satoshi Lab (FSL) ecosystem on Solana, with a fixed supply of 6 billion tokens. GMT are well used in all FSL ecosystem products to be burned, used and staked to unlock various functions and perks.
Game
- Game modes:
- Solo mode: users are equipped with NFT Sneakers to earn tokens by moving. Energy is needed to earn Green Satoshis Tokens (GST). Energy only starts replenishing after users acquire an NFT Sneaker.
- Marathon Mode (Under Development): In Marathon Mode, users need to register under the Marathon Tab at least 24 hours prior to commencement. There will both be Weekly Marathons and Monthly Marathons.
- Background Mode (Under Development): users will be able continue earning GST while the STEPN app is not actively used.
- Sneakers: STEPN has sneakers of different attributes, types, quality and levels, which affects the efficiency of earning GST/GMT.
- Shoe-Minting: users can use 2 Sneakers they own as a blueprint to produce a Shoebox.
- Gems and Sockets: once their Sneakers reach a certain level, users can unlock Gem Sockets to enhance their Sneaker Attributes.
- Badge: Badges are earned by completing tasks
- Sneaker Customization (Under development): users can burn GST/GMT/NFT to customize their Sneakers e.g. name changing, adding a quote, adding extra Attribute points etc.

STEPN has built its own multi-chain Decentralized Exchange (DEX) DOOAR.
