Apple Removed the Hidden Bitcoin Whitepaper on its MacOS in the Latest Upgrade

The Bitcoin white paper has been quietly removed from the latest beta version of Apple's operating system upgrade. According to a report by 9to5Mac, Apple removed the white paper after removing a test scanner app called Virtual Scanner II in the latest MacOS Ventura 13.4 beta.

The existence of the white paper in MacOS was revealed by technologist Andy Baio in an April 5 blog post. It was discovered that a PDF copy of Satoshi Nakamoto's Bitcoin white paper had shipped with every copy of MacOS for the past five years, hidden within Virtual Scanner II. While the reason for its inclusion was unknown, it was believed to be "just a joke among Apple engineers." Some even speculated that Apple co-founder Steve Jobs could be Satoshi Nakamoto. However, with the removal of the white paper from the latest beta version of MacOS, its mystery may forever remain unsolved.
