BNB Chain announced that the opBNB mainnet is open to infrastructure providers today, which is the first step to opBNB's mainnet launch.
opBNB is an optimistic rollup built on top of BNB Chain based on OP Stack. According to BNB Chain, as of early August, the opBNB testnet had recorded over 7 million transactions, connected 435,972 wallets, deployed over 40 dApps, and processes more than 86,000 blocks daily, with transaction volumes ranging from 100,000 to 150,000 transactions per day and over 6,000 daily active users. The transaction cost of opBNB was reduced to as low as $0.005 per transfer transaction. The mainnet is expected to open to the public at the end of August or early September.
