Citadel Securities and Virtu Financial Are Building a Crypto Trading Marketplace with the Help of Sequoia Capital and Paradigm

Global market maker Citadel Securities is partnering with Virtu Financial, a high-frequency trading and market-making firm, to build a cryptocurrency trading ecosystem with the help of venture capital firms Sequoia Capital and Paradigm. In addition, Citadel Securities will work with other wealth management firms, market makers and other industry leaders to promote safe, clean, compliant and secure trading of digital assets with the goal of creating a more efficient and deep pool of liquidity for digital assets. Previously, Citadel Securities closed a $1.15 billion funding round in January at a $22 billion valuation led by Sequoia Capital with participation from Paradigm and others.
