Coinbase Denies Claim That It Sells User Data

Coinbase released a statement on its official Twitter account, saying that it does not sell proprietary customer data, and its first concern has been and always will be providing the safest crypto experience to its users. Besides, Coinbase clarifies that the Coinbase Tracer tools are designed to support compliance and help investigate financial crimes like money laundering and terrorist financing. Coinbase Tracer sources its information from public sources, and does not make use of Coinbase user data. Previously, watchdog group Tech Inquiry said that Coinbase Tracer provides the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) with data about crypto users.
