Coinbase Facing Scrutiny from 10 U.S. State Securities Regulators

After being sued by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Coinbase is also facing scrutiny from ten U.S. state securities regulators.

A task force of ten state securities regulators in the U.S., namely Alabama, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, South Carolina, Vermont, Washington and Wisconsin alleged Coinbase broke the law by offering staking service. According to the Alabama Securities Commission (ASC), Coinbase has 28 days to explain how its staking service did not violate state securities laws.
