Crypto Investor CoinFund Seeks to Raise $250 Million for Its Seed Fund

CoinFund, a crypto-focused investor, is seeking to raise $250 million for its new seed fund, CoinFund Seed IV, according to a new filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The fund is not yet open to investors.

Founded in 2015, CoinFund initially focused on early-stage investments in Bitcoin and DeFi projects, with a portfolio that includes blockchain network Polkadot, decentralized trading platform Balancer, and data indexing protocol The Graph, among others.

Previously in August, the firm launched its $300 million CoinFund Ventures I fund.
