EigenLayer, an Ethereum re-staking protocol, saw a surge in its total value locked that is now reaching nearly $240 million.
The increase came shortly after the platform’s second round of deposit caps for liquid staking assets such as stETH, rETH and cbETH were filled quickly yesterday.
EigenLayer's primary function is to re-stake ether and the aforementioned liquid staking tokens to secure other blockchain networks. Stage 1 of EigenLayer was launched on the Ethereum mainnet in June
EigenLayer has introduced a new non-fungible token (NFT) collection called EigenWorlds, and has opened for a free mint today.
EigenWorlds is EigenLayer’s second NFT collection, an open edition for all community members to mint their own names and visual emblems in the EigenLayer ecosystem. The NFT is available for minting from now until August 30th at http://mint.eigenlayer.xyz
There are 3 different tiers, obtainable depending on whether your wallet:
- Restaker: has restaked in EigenLayer
- Collector: holds the Zora NFT
- Base Layer: had no interaction with the EigenLayer ecosystem
The mint is uncapped, there are now over 20,000 mints already.
The team has not yet revealed whether the mint is merely commemorative or if this collection will have any utility.
