El Salvador May Launch Its Bitcoin Bonds This Week

According to an official in El Salvador, the country is still considering a timetable to launch its bitcoin bonds between March 15 and March 20, although the war in Ukraine could affect the timeline. Relevant specific details have not yet been announced. Earlier, El Salvador's Finance Minister Alejandro Zelaya had said the country planned to issue its first $1 billion bitcoin bond between March 15 and March 20. The bond allows for a minimum purchase of $100 and does not require going through a stockbroker. In addition, the bond will be issued on Blockstream's Liquid Network sidechain and comes with a 6.5% coupon.
