Ethereum client OpenEthereum announced that its support has officially ended, with the repo archived and all maintenance and updates stopped. The team said that the OpenEthereum legacy codebase is 7 years old and increasingly difficult to manage, and well documented and streamlined execution-layer clients are required to navigate the upcoming merge and successful shift to PoS. On Ethereum Mainnet, Go Ethereum, Erigon and Nethermind are recommended clients.
