Ethereum Layer2 Scaling Solution Taiko Releases First Public Testnet

Ethereum Layer2 scaling solution Taiko announced the launch of its first public testnet, which is named Snæfellsjökull.

Developers can now deploy smart contracts on the testnet for users to use. Participants can also run a Layer2 node. Currently, the testnet can't generate validity proofs, and users can't extend their nodes into provers. The problem will be solved in future testnet releases.

Taiko is a ZK-Rollup that aims for EVM-equivalence and Ethereum-equivalence, which will allow its rollup to support all existing Ethereum smart contracts, DApps, developer tooling, and infrastructure.
