Injective will undergo a major mainnet upgrade scheduled for January 11 – the Volan upgrade. This upgrade adds several important features and improvements to enhance the user experience. The key focuses are the integration of the world’s first RWA module, the introduction of token-burning capabilities, and the upgrade of scalability and security.
The RWA module will allow anyone to launch tokens with custom features such as bespoke allow list for who is able to access assets. This can support a permissioning layer directly on Injective chain which retain capital efficiency for all users while adding compliant access points for financial institutions.
In this upgrade, Injective will also expand IBC cross-chain supports, any IBC-enabled chains will be able to interact with injective's web3 finance modules such as on-chain orderbook, allowing advanced cross-chain transactions such as order routing, swaps.
