Optimism's Goerli Testnet to Migrate to Bedrock on January 12th

OP Labs announced that Optimism's Goerli testnet will migrate to Bedrock on January 12th. OP Labs is working with node operators to ensure a smooth migration, while users and apps won't be impacted by the migration.

Bedrock is a new generation of decentralized Rollup architecture developed by OP Labs, which is designed to re-use as much of Ethereum's code, infrastructure, and design patterns as possible. It will allow Optimism to reduce fees, incorporate multiple proof mechanisms including ZK proofs, and support multiple execution clients.

After the migration of Optimism Goerli, OP Labs will submit a proposal regarding Optimism mainnet migration.
