StarkNet has launched Alpha 0.8.0 on testnet, which introduces a fee mechanism based on computational complexity, but the current version does not enforce payment and StarkWare will still subsidize Layer 1 communication fees. In addition, this update adds the ability to retrieve transaction execution traces to StarkNet's API and adds Layer 1 to Layer 2 message cancellation.
