Tether posted that Bloomberg's report was just for attention, and that much of it was old and untrue.
The article mentions that Bloomberg first reported on the DOJ's "investigation" in November 2018 and has repeated it in the years since. But in fact, Tether has been cooperating with law enforcement agencies around the world.
"Tether routinely has open dialogue with law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Department of Justice, as part of our commitment to cooperation, transparency, and accountability. We are proud of our role as industry leaders in promoting cooperation between industry and government authorities in the U.S. and around the world. We remain committed to our customers and the industry-leading technology and transparency that has led to our growth."
Furthermore, Tether has only enhanced its cooperation with the DOJ by helping the department in real time in connection with some of the biggest cybercrime and national security cases in the country.
