The Signup Period for ConsenSys zkEVM Private Beta Testnet Will Close This Week

ConsenSys, the blockchain software company behind Metamask and Infura, is developing an EVM-compatible Ethereum rollup powered by zero-knowledge proofs (zkEVM). This new zkEVM Private beta testnet was open for signup in early January and will close the signup period within this week. In these final days of signup period, Consensys will increase the daily onboarding rate to 10,000 plus users. The testnet has successfully processed 50,000+ zkEVM blocks with proofs.

Participants in the testnet can bridge assets between the Ethereum Goerli testnet and the zkEVM to test smart contracts, dapps, infrastructure, and wallets.

zkEVM is considered to be the future of Ethereum scaling. zkEVM can process a large number of transactions, and automatically generate mathematical proof of the validity of those transactions. These proofs do not need to reveal information about the actual transactions, allowing for privacy of transactions. Other zkEVM projects include Polygon zkEVM, zkSync, Scroll zkEVM, and Starkware.
