U.S. House Representative Push to Remove the Position of SEC Chairman Gary Gensler

U.S. House Representative Warren Davidson responded to a tweet by Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal, stating, "To correct a long series of abuses, I am introducing legislation that removes the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission and replaces the role with an Executive Director that reports to the Board (where authority resides). Former Chairs of the SEC are ineligible."

Warren Davidson has been serving as the U.S. Representative for Ohio's 8th congressional district since 2016. He is a member of the Republican Party. Before entering politics, Davidson served in the United States Army. He has been involved in various legislative efforts in the House, mainly focusing on fiscal responsibility, national defense, economic growth, and constitutional principles. Davidson serves on several committees in Congress, including the Financial Services Committee and the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.
