Web3 Firms Raised About $7.1 Billion in Funding During 2022

Web3 firms raised about $7.1 billion in funding during 2022, with gaming, metaverse and social networks accounting for the top three investments, according to Metaverse Post’s year-end report.

The gaming category received the most funding, at $4.49 billion, accounting for 62.5% of total Web3 investment, the report said. The metaverse was next at $1.8 billion, accounting for 25.4% of total investments. Social networks was $259.1 million, accounting for 3.6% of total investments. The last three were infrastructure, AR&VR and artificial intelligence with $200.8 million, $178.6 million and $136.5 million, respectively.
