Tapio Protocol, along with its sister Taiga Protocol on Kusama, enables frictionless liquidity in the Polkadot ecosystem. Tapio and Taiga Protocols are based on the same technology but differ in operation roadmap due to the deployment schedule between Polkadot and Kusama networks.
The fragmented liquidity makes it difficult for new assets to gain adoption and applications to expand coverage. Polkadot is likely to suffer from similar liquidity fragmentation problems as the Parachain ecosystem grows. Tapio protocol aims to unify liquidity in the Polkadot network and bridge the gap between new assets and applications.
The inaugural synthetic asset launching on Acala will be tDOT. tDOT is the first stable asset launched on Acala.
Tapio Protocol is governed by Tapio Council on Acala. Tapio Council is elected by TAP token holders on Acala.
