About $270,000 Stolen in Galxe Attack, the Website Now Fully Recovered

Web3 digital credential data network Galxe tweeted that the website is now fully recovered and the team continues to enhance security.

On October 6, an unknown individual contacted Galxe's domain service provider Dynadot, impersonating an authorized Galxe member and bypassing the security process with falsified documentation. The impersonator then gained unauthorized access to the domain account, which was manipulated to redirect website visitors to a fake site and sign transactions that misappropriated their funds.

Galxe stated that the incident only affected its domain and front-end application. All Galxe smart contracts and technical systems remain secure and protected. All user information remains safe and unaffected.

To date, Galxe estimated that approximately 1,120 users who interacted with the malicious site were affected and about $270,000 was stolen. The team is actively working with legal enforcement and third-party experts to develop a fund recovery plan that will ensure everyone who is affected will be supported.
