Harmony Selects LayerZero as its Partner to Resume the Horizon Bridge

Harmony announced the selection of LayerZero, an interoperability protocol, as its partner for the resume of the Horizon Bridge. Harmony replaced the previously existing multisig validation layer with LayerZero's validation layer, and does not need to run or maintain any backend infrastructure.

Further, Harmony has taken additional security steps to proactively monitor and prevent future hacks by partnering with Lossless, who will deploy their latest innovation Aegis, a proactive web3 security infrastructure. Aegis framework will continuously monitor the Horizon bridge to detect any suspicious activities and prevent future attacks on the bridge.

In terms of the assets, Harmony will support bridging stablecoins such as USDC, USDT, DAI, BUSD, FRAX and assets such as ETH, WBTC, AAG, FXS, (x)SUSHI and AAVE on Ethereum. On the Binance Smart Chain side, BNB, BUSD are initially supported. The native ONE token can also be bridged over to both Ethereum and BSC like before.
