SSV.network launched its public mainnet on September 14th, attracting over 10 staking decentralized applications that have deployed their platforms on the network.

The goal of this DVT (distributed validator technology) is to bring greater decentralization to the current staking provider landscape, which is currently dominated by a handful of ETH staking pools holding a significant share of ETH locked in the staking contract.

This technology divides a private key, used to secure a validator, among a cluster of computers. This approach enhances security and allows certain nodes within a validator cluster to go offline, reducing single points of failure and fortifying validator sets.

Through the distribution of keyshares among a diverse set of nodes in a cluster, validators achieve a higher degree of decentralization. Staking pools can utilize DVT to decentralize their own infrastructure or delegate this task to SSV.network node operators.
